🌼 It was one of the most important medicinal plants of the ancient Mayas, who used it to treat respiratory diseases, as well as a diuretic, and aphrodisiac.
🌼 A hot decoction of damiana was traditionally drunk with honey, as a tonic for muscle weakness, and to regain strength after alcoholic, and sexual excesses.
🌼 Or the leaves were macerated with tequila to produce a love potion that bestowed euphoria and a ‘natural high’.
