🌺 Hibiscus is used worldwide, to make drinks, jams, jellies, sauces, chutneys, wines and preserves, as well as for traditional medicines to treat colds, toothaches, urinary tract infections and hangovers.
🌺 Hibiscus flowers contain organic acids (citric acid, ascorbic acid, maleic acid, hibsicic acid, oxalic acid, tartaric acid), phytosterols, polyphenols and anthocyanins.
🌺 Hibiscus’s actions are anti-inflammatory, anti-obesity, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-hypertensive, diuretic, antiurolithicatic, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, hepatoprotective, renoprotective, antitumour, and immunomodulatory properties that make hibiscus useful in preventing chronic disease associated with oxidative stress such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, cancer and inflammatory diseases of liver and kidney.
