π± Macuna, also known as velvet bean, is a food source used in Ayurvedic medicine β¦ and for its powerful aphrodisiac properties.
π± Macuna is also used for the treatment of arthritis, nervous disorders and neurological diseases.
π± Macuna is naturally rich in L-DOPA, (a precursor to dopamine), which is used as a commercial source of L-DOPA to treat Parkinsonβs disease.
π± Macuna also contains trace amounts of psycho-active chemicals including 5-hydroxy tryptamine (serotonin), nicotine, dimethyl tryptamine (DMT), bufotenine and 5-MeO-DMT.
π± Along with its aphrodisiac properties macuna is used to manage stress, improve semen quality as well as for its anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer and anti-microbial activities.
